Meat is a more gritty, plot-filled story that you can sink your teeth into.
Its narrative is controlled by Dirk, after his 'ultimate self' is realised.
We follow Dirk's journey, helpless to stop him as he mentally tortures his
friends and affiliates through bending their circumstances to his will. He
also occasionally has direct control over their actions, twisting their
words and moving their bodies with his power. The story is basically if an
abusive pretentious manchild suddenly could hit back at everyone he's ever
seen as an inconvience. Even the actions he sees as benevolent are
boundary-breaking and strange. If you wanted to see Dirk grow and change
as a person, the epilogues are not for you. All of his worst traits are
tripled. The meat epilogues are also stressful, ruthless, bizarre and intense.
They aren't for everyone.
content warnings: the meat epilogues contain mind control, dubious consent, psychological torture, implied emotional incest, transphobia, abuse, major character death in typical homestuck fashion and much more.
